Yesterday was the anniversary of my marriage to Vicki.  Since it was a work night we had a very simple celebration.  Zakk watched his brother and sister so we could go out alone shopping, then out to eat.

Yesterday was also my birthday.  I am getting older, which is a good thing.  I'm certainly not afraid of death, but I just have so much more I need to do.

Having just attended a funeral this week, Vicki asked me what I wanted at my funeral.  I told her I wanted lots of music.  Let's face it, funerals are really more for the people who are left behind, since the departed are dancing in heaven.  I want lots of singing and rejoicing to remind people that there is more than meets the eyes, and we should rejoice when a loved one goes on to be with God.

She asked me what song I would like to have sung.  I told her since the service is more for those left behind, that I want a song sung for the pallbearers.  I replied "Sixteen Tons," as recorded by Tennessee Ernie Ford.
